Commitment to Recovery
At just 21, Atreyo began experiencing homelessness, cycling in and out of the prison system while battling substance use disorder for over a decade.
Exhausted by this cycle, he came to Fourth Street Clinic in 2023 seeking support for sobriety and essential medical care. Determined to rebuild his life, Atreyo took the steps to become an established patient – often riding the FrontRunner each week from his halfway house in Ogden. Through consistent effort, he accessed behavioral health services and began medication-assisted treatment for his substance use disorder.
Now 34, Atreyo has been sober for three years. He continues to meet regularly with his primary care and behavioral health providers for monthly check-ins and to receive his Suboxone prescription. With his commitment to recovery and the ongoing support of Fourth Street Clinic, Atreyo was able to secure steady employment and move into his own apartment.
“You guys saved my life,” he says. “You do awesome work here and help a lot of people.”
